Turkey Meeting (December 2009)

The first meeting was held between the dates 1-6 Dec. 2009 in Turkey.

FIRST DAY

In the first day, they watched Mehteran Team and Turkish Folk Dance team in our school garden.

 We called Osmaniye Local TV(ORT) and Hürriyet Journal as a dissemination activity .

Our pupils offered them flowers as a hospitality.

We introduced our school,classes and dormitory to them and also gave information about education system in Turkey. Then we talked about the similarities and differences between Turkey and partner schools. Our pupils had a chance to talk to foreigners for the first time.

We took our place in the project room which was prepared beforehand to change the dates of the other

meetings. Italy was decided to be the second meeting place between the dates 15-21 May 2010 and Spain will be the third and Poland will be the last meeting place.

Because of Christmas, pupils exchanged the christmas cards which were prepared by the pupils in each partner country.

SECOND DAY

In the second day, all the teachers of each country visited director of education and governor of Osmaniye and gave them information about our project.

 We visited Castabala Castle, Aslantaş Open Air Museum, Karatepe Carpets, Berke Dam, and city center with our guests and general information was given.

We played and listened bağlama together.

Each country presented their PPT about their countries, cities, schools. So we learned a lot about all countries and broke prejudice.

THIRD DAY

In the third day, we visited St. Pierre Church and city center in Hatay. General information was given.

 All the week, our guests tasted Turkish food.

FOURTH DAY

In the fourth day, our scouts performed their shows “stop stop”(drama), Kolbastı dance group and Eurovision song. In the afternoon, we visited Şanlıurfa(Balıklıgöl,Sıra gecesi). General information was given.

FIFTH DAY

In the fifth day, we visited Sabancı Mosque, Etnografya Museum, Adana Culture and Art Street. We offered them traditional gifts. We accomadated in Adana on Friday because on Saturday, they left Adana Airport.And Turkey meeting was finished successfully.
